14.00   Bringing IPv6-awareness to K-12 Schools in Taiwan
In 2009 Taiwan government initiated a 4-year project to upgrade the campus networks in elementary schools and high schools to support VoIP over IPv6. Many vendors were requested to develop hardphones which support Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) over both IPv4/IPv6. By promising that a large amount of IPv6 phones will be purchased in 2010 to be deployed in 30% of K-12 classrooms, vendors are highly motivated and successfully delivered hardphones with dualstack IPv4/IPv6 support, rich SIP features, and most importantly, with a low price which costs approximately 60 US dollars for each IP phone.
